Stewarton Bowling Club has proudly served the local community in Stewarton, East Ayrshire for over a century, fostering a friendly and inclusive environment for lawn bowls enthusiasts of all ages since 1861.

Visitors are always welcome! You can:

  • Drop by when we're open and speak to a committee member.
  • Attend one of our open days or social events (see our calendar).
  • Contact us to arrange a visit.

At the moment, we only have one membership level available, which is:

Full Membership – This provides access to all club facilities and competitions.

We are really fortunate as a club currently to have a high number of active members and therefore we do not offer a Social Membership (non-playing) option at this time.

Our clubhouse and green are typically open from 5pm to 10pm every day during the season, with extended hours during competitions and social events.

About the Club

We’re conveniently located at 1A Dunlop Street just a couple of minutes walk from Stewarton Train Station. Local buses also stop nearby - please check with your bus operator for more details.

So you might have heard a few of the common bowling terms. Here are a few to get the bowl rolling (see what we did there?):

  • End – A segment of play where all bowls are delivered from one 'end' of the green to the other.
  • Jack – The small white ball that players aim for.
  • Bias – The built-in curve of a bowl.
  • Rink – The lane or playing area on the green.
  • Skip – The team captain who directs play.

Yes! We have a selection of bowls and other equipment available for visitors and new members to use. Just wear flat-soled shoes to protect the green.

Photos and selfies are welcome during public events and casual visits (remember to tag us on Facebook!)

For games, competitions or private functions, please check with a committee member.
