The Constitution and Bye-laws of Stewarton Bowling Club serve as the foundational documents that outline the principles, etiquette, and rules governing how the club operates.
We pride ourselves on fostering a friendly and inclusive atmosphere where members of all ages and skill levels can enjoy the sport on the green as well as find some great banter in the clubhouse too!
Our Constitution and Bye-laws aim to ensure that all members understand their rights and responsibilities in making that happen.
Here’s a quick overview of what you’ll find in our Constitution:
Among others, it explains that we exist to promote and encourage the sport of lawn bowls within the Stewarton community; and that we'll organise and participate in competitions, tournaments, and social events.
It explains our current categories of club membership as well as how membership is administered.
It explains that our club is governed by an elected committee, which includes positions such as President, Secretary, Treasurer etc. and sets out how and when those positions are to be filled.
It also sets out the frequency of Club and Committee Meetings to ensure that important business affecting our club is dealt with promptly:
Held once a year and open to all Full Club Members to review the club's performance, present financial reports, and elect committee members.
Regular meetings of the elected management committee to manage the day-to-day operations of the club, or any sub-committees.
