Stewarton Bowling Club enjoyed an excellent day of bowling at the McKellar Funeral Directors Mixed Triples competition on Saturday 25 July 2026, with favourable weather conditions helping to create an enjoyable atmosphere throughout the event.

The competition culminated in a friendly but keenly contested final. Jimmy Goral, Pamela Sibbald and David Bentley emerged as the eventual winners after defeating the team of Laura Bentley, Gary Leitch and Hugh Sharp. Congratulations go to both sets of finalists for their performances and sportsmanship during the competition.

The club extends its sincere thanks to McKellar Funeral Directors for sponsoring the event and supporting bowling within the local community. Appreciation is also extended to everyone who participated in the Mixed Triples competition and helped make the day a success.

Beyond the action on the green, the event also delivered a significant fundraising achievement. Through a raffle and the generosity of members’ donations, more than £650 was raised for Ayrshire Cancer Care. The club’s donation sheet remains available on the clubhouse notice board for any members or guests who wish to contribute further to this charitable cause.

Overall, the Mixed Triples competition proved to be a highly successful occasion for both Stewarton Bowling Club and Ayrshire Cancer Care, combining enjoyable competition with valuable community fundraising.
