Stewarton Bowling Club hosted Barrhead in a match that provided an enjoyable afternoon of competitive bowling and good company on Saturday 8th August.

Although the day was affected by rain later on, both clubs enjoyed a successful occasion on the green. Barrhead proved the stronger side on the day, recording a 106-88 shots victory over Stewarton.

Stewarton’s highest-winning rink was skipped by Clive Jelly, with Jimmy Gibson, Wullie Ross and Gary Leitch completing the rink. Their strong performance provided a highlight for the home club against a formidable Barrhead team.

Following the match, Stewarton Vice President Kevin McMullen presented the club’s annual trophy to Barrhead’s Past President Kenny Urquart. The presentation brought the day to a fitting conclusion after an enjoyable afternoon of bowling, friendly competition and good humour shared by all in attendance.

Despite the result, the event was another positive occasion for the club, bringing members together and reinforcing the strong sporting links between the two teams.
