Stewarton Secure First Win of the New Season Over Kilmarnock Portland

Saturday 25 April saw Stewarton host an enjoyable annual fixture against Kilmarnock Portland, which was played in excellent conditions and marked by some good competitive bowling.

With the sun shining throughout the day, both teams sides enjoyed the opportunity to catch some rays whilst they racked up the ends. Stewarton produced a strong overall performance, eventually claiming victory by 111 shots to 76 against Kilmarnock Portland. The match was played in great spirit, with plenty of quality ends across the green.

A notable performance came from the highest up rink of the day, made up of John Kilpatrick, Jim Tonner, Ross Taylor and Clive Jelly, who delivered an excellent display and contributed significantly to Stewarton’s winning total.

Stewarton President David Hutchison was presented with the trophy by Kilmarnock Portland Vice President Gary Ranson.

Off the green, the day was rounded off with a meal that was thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance. Thanks go to the catering team for providing our usual great hospitality.
